Depression occurs most often between 18 to 25 and affects over 10% of individuals in the age group. It’s common. And treatable. Symptoms are not always just based around sadness; low motivation/energy, isolation, and blank mood are also normal experiences of depression. Reach out if you don’t feel like yourself.
Over 50% of undergrad student report feeling overwhelmed by anxiety at some point. Early adulthood is stressful and can be confusing but it doesn’t need to lead to the type of apprehension that can become paralyzing. I help clients overcome and manage fears and worry to regain control of their lives.
Building kind, supportive, lasting relationships is one life’s most difficult tasks. And yet we need them so desperately. There’s no magic bullet but there are common building blocks that create honesty, communication, healthy boundaries and fulfillment in relationships.
Over 25% of people will have experience a panic attack at some point in their life. The experience can be overwhelming and frightening…I’ve had a few of my own. I can provide tools to help manage panic when it does occur and help make panic attacks fewer and farther between. Therapy can also help address and resolve underlying causes or triggers to panic.
For as difficult as early adulthood is, it’s also an opportunity for incredible growth. Author your own story, be the person you want to be, discover the experiences and people bring joy into your life. All that jazz! It is absolutely possible to have the life you want, both now and in the future. And on top of that, you absolutely deserve it. This is some of my favorite therapy.
Women seek therapy at twice the rate of men. There’s plenty of reasons men don’t go to therapy but none of them are good enough to justify continuing to struggle alone. I provide individual psychotherapy. A free, 15 minute phone, in-person, or email consultation is the best way to get started. It gives me a chance to find out what you want to talk about, answer any questions and, more importantly, it gives you a chance to see if you feel comfortable talking to me.
